Latin America. Schneider Electric appointed Javier Ortiz, a Colombian with solid experience in digital transformation, to lead the operation of Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia and Peru, that is, the Andean Cluster, as of April 3, 2023.
The new president has to date more than 18 years of experience in the energy and technology industry, a relevant factor for Schneider Electric, as these skills are aligned with the company's purpose of continuing to consolidate its position as "leader in the digital transformation of energy and automation", as well as the "digitalization, electrification and sustainability of large and medium-sized companies in the region".
Another relevant detail is that Javier will be the successor of Saulo Spaolanse, who had been leading the region for the last 4 and a half years. For his part, Spaolanse will continue his career within the company in a global position, as Senior Vice President Global Supply Chain Customer Digital Transformation, "based in Europe, as a result of its visibility, good results in the region and the mobility strategy and talent promotion that Schneider Electric has".
However, Javier is an electronic engineer from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and has a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de los Andes. In addition, he has complemented his academic training with leadership programs at ISE Business School and in Disruptive Innovation at Harvard Business School Executive Education. His most recent experience was at Oracle, where he had an ascending seven-year career as commercial director of Software, Hardware and Cloud Systems.
Javier said, "Over the past seven years, I have had the privilege of leading Oracle's sales practice, where we have experienced immense digital transformation. Today I am delighted to assume this role, following the strong track record of Saulo Spaolense, under whose leadership Schneider Electric has become a leader in digitalization, electrification and sustainability in the Andean region."
