Mexico. Danfoss announced the construction of a new compressor and sensor manufacturing plant in Apodaca.
In this new space the company will be responsible for the production of medium and large scroll compressors, pressure sensors for HVAC/R and A2L leak detection sensors for residential and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning. The facility is expected to be ready by the end of 2024, starting with a capacity for 100,000 compressor units, 1.6 million pressure sensors, and 1 million A2L leak detection sensors.
This move is part of Danfoss' ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) strategy to deliver localized production to customers. By expanding the global production footprint, Danfoss is also ensuring supply chain flexibility and security for the future.
"We are really proud to launch production in Mexico to increase our market support," says Fabio Klein, Senior Vice President of Scrolls and Reciprocating Compressors, "Our Commercial Compressors unit is a significant growth journey, and this move will take us one step closer."
Bert Labots, Vice President of Sensing Solutions, said, "It's exciting to be even closer to our U.S. customers and help them improve the efficiency and safety of their cooling systems with a regionalized supply chain."
