International. Johnson Controls and Willow, a provider of digital twin solutions for Infrastructure and Real Estate, announced Feb. 8 that they will make a global collaboration to digitally transform buildings and facilities into healthier, safer and more sustainable environments for their customers and occupants.
Both companies are committed to jointly providing next-generation solutions to their customers. Digital twins, which have already played an increasingly important role in design, construction and continuous operation, will play a crucial role in keeping buildings and facilities healthy, as these twins can be valuable when analyzing large data sets, predicting patterns and trends.
Rodney Clark, vice president and chief commercial officer at Johnson Controls, commented, "When it comes to our OpenBlue suite of connected solutions, our customers see the return on their investment to create smarter, healthier and more sustainable buildings – it's a win for them and the environment. We look forward to working with Willow to bring increasingly robust digital twin solutions to our mutual customers."
Joshua Ridley, CEO and co-founder of Willow, said: "Through this partnership, we have an incredible opportunity to help customers reimagine what's possible when they digitize their buildings and facilities at scale. By integrating the power of WillowTwin with Johnson Controls' OpenBlue Digital Twin™ platform, customers can gain operational efficiency and cost reductions, improve their sustainability management and improve IoT/operational technology security across their building and facility portfolios globally."
Finally, in connection with this collaboration, Johnson Controls and Willow have signed a commercialization agreement and a licensing agreement for the use of digital twin technology patents. The companies also agreed to strengthen their technological and commercial collaboration in marketing, implementation and interoperability.
