Latin America. Daikin assures that to guarantee a permanent operation with a reduction of costs in the Data Center, it is essential to develop sustainable server and rack cooling solutions, which allow maximizing the energy consumption of the operation.
For Daikin, since we are immersed in the information age, data is the most important element of any organization, therefore, the use of Data Center or Data Centers, is a trend and one of the fastest growing sectors worldwide and, particularly, in Mexico.
It is undeniable that this Latin American country has become very attractive to large companies such as Amazon and Google. Hence, the Data Centers in this territory have the mission of guaranteeing proper operation and energy efficiency; through a controlled environment, according to international standards.
According to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the maximum temperature in a data center should not exceed 27°C measured on the front door of the server cabinet.
Well, overheating can generate operational stoppages, electrostatic charges, oxidation of equipment. Hence, cooling systems are indispensable to keep server information secure.
On the other hand, various experts in the Air Conditioning industry develop technologies focused on energy efficiency and friendly to the environment, since only the cooling of racks, servers and critical hardware consumes between 60% to 80% of the total energy, an issue that decants in that stopping this would have become the mission of the owners of these Centers, as well as having allies that optimize this energy consumption and help them achieve their sustainable operation objectives.
Julia Rodriguez, consulting sales director at Daikin, commented:
"We are living a key moment in terms of sustainability, which is something very positive for those of us in the cooling industry, since sectors as important for the development of a digital economy as Data Centers have found in our cooling technologies such as the VRV system (Variable Refrigerant Volume) a solution that adapts to different server designs, supplying the necessary cold air to maintain the exact temperature required in each hardware element, as well as for the rest of the building".
That is, the implementation of cooling systems depends on various factors such as load requirements, distribution, architecture and capacity, among others. That's why data center managers must partner with cooling solution providers who study the particular characteristics of each center and implement the right solution.
For this, the specialist suggested keeping in mind liquid cooling solutions such as water chillers with inverter technology (which allows maximum energy savings) and free cooling; as well as the innovations and trends that allow to manage, improve and accompany the people responsible for the operation of the centers in the process of implementing these solutions.
In conclusion, today technological innovation goes beyond traditional sectors, with an economy increasingly oriented towards digital, so it relies on infrastructures such as Data Centers, which in turn are being transformed into complex buildings where temperature control and the use of sustainable technologies, It has become one of the most critical factors to maintain the pace of growth of this sector, as well as a guarantee for the safe protection of personal information or any business.
