International. For the second year in a row, Rheem received the 2022 Energy Star Partner of the Year award, from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy.
Each year, the Energy Star program honors a group of companies and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through superior energy achievements.
"Rheem is innovating with intent and designing solutions with lifelong sustainability in mind," said Chee Wee Gan, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Sustainability at Rheem. "We are committed to preserving our planet's resources through energy efficiency."
Rheem made a significant commitment to sustainability with its Greater Grade of Good initiative, which highlights "smart products", "responsible processes" and "inspired people" to promote selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
"We focus on material selection, smart functions and responsible recycling, while also introducing smart products for air and water in homes and businesses around the world," said Chris Day, vice president of strategy and product engineering at Rheem, Global Air.
"We know that heating, cooling and water heating account for the bulk of a home's energy use and we see an opportunity for Rheem to have a real impact on creating a sustainable future," said Stacey Gearhart, vice president of product management and channel marketing, Global Water. "Our teams in the air and water businesses work together every day to meet customer needs and reduce environmental impact."
"We know it will take all of us to work together to address the climate crisis, and the 2022 Energy Star Award-winning partners are demonstrating what it takes to build a more sustainable future," said EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. "These companies are demonstrating once again that taking action in support of a clean energy economy can be good not only for the environment, but also for businesses and customers."
The Energy Star award winners lead their industries in the production, sale and adoption of products, homes, buildings, services and energy efficiency strategies. These efforts are essential to combat the climate crisis and protect public health.
