International. The International Refrigeration Institute (IIR) and the United Nations Environment Programme partnered on the development of a report on cold chain technology on vaccines for national ozone government officials, policymakers and refrigeration stakeholders.
This collaboration contributes to international efforts to reaffirm the indisputable role that refrigeration plays in modern life and, in particular, in the fight against the current global pandemic.
Written by Gérald Cavalier (Chair of the IIR Science and Technology Council), the report provides an overview of vaccine temperature control, different types of vaccine cold chain applications, good operating practices for vaccine cold chain applications, types of refrigerants used, and challenges related to this sector.
Available in English, French, Spanish and Russian, the abstract is a valuable reference for better understanding the entry of the cold chain into the vaccination life cycle.
The Vaccine Cold Chain Technology Report can be downloaded from IIR's website in https://iifiir.org/en/fridoc/cold-chain-technology-brief-vaccines-144036.
This Report is a continuation of the IIR-UNEP series of previously published cold chain technology reports in several sectors:
Commercial, professional and domestic refrigeration
Transport refrigeration
Cold storage and refrigerated storage
Refrigeration in food production and processing
Fishing boat application
