Mexico. With the aim of generating educational and research opportunities for students, through innovation initiatives and the development of more efficient and clean energy solutions, Tecnológico de Monterrey and Generac Power Systems opened the Mexico Technology Center MTC (Centro de Tecnología en México).
"Generac is proud to partner with Tecnológico de Monterrey to provide students with this unique learning opportunity," said Alejandro Bargalló, Director of Engineering for LATAM at Generac. "Thanks to this partnership, students will have an overview of the initiatives that are underway in the electrical and energy industry. We are pleased to be able to help train the best talent in Mexico with Tec, a leader in technological development, innovation and creativity."
The new facility is located within CEDETEC (Center for Business Development and Technology Transfer) on the State of Mexico Campus of Tecnológico de Monterrey. Which is located near the generac Mexico manufacturing plant, located in Villa de Tezontepec, Hidalgo. The partnership will enable students to work with a world-leading company in their field.
"We see many possibilities, including generating challenges for our Tec 21 students, internships for our students in their last semesters, joint research thesis with our master's and doctoral students," said Dr. José Carlos Miranda, Regional Dean of the School of Engineering and Sciences of Tecnológico de Monterrey. "This agreement will contribute to technological development projects, we see a great synergy for the future."
The MTC was officially launched on April 5 virtually, due to COVID-19 protocols at the time. As of this week of September 13 of this year, 24 students and six research professors are part of the collaboration program.
