International. Carrier Transicold and SeaCube Containers LLC announced a strategic commitment to promote Carrier's Lynx™ Fleet technology. As a result, SeaCube is the first intermodal equipment rental company to incorporate this solution into its fleet, with an initial deployment of 2,000 units of PrimeLINE™ refrigerated containers.
The Lynx Fleet solution includes patented technology that monitors the performance of the refrigerated unit and provides actionable early warning diagnostics and predictive analytics down to the level of machine components. The Carrier Lynx Fleet system will provide much more detailed machine performance analysis capabilities compared to other telematics platforms on the market thanks to the use of machine data sources with integrated sensors.
This digital engagement between Refrigerated Equipment Leasing Specialist SeaCube and Carrier Transicold will drive greater flexibility and data-focused intelligence reporting throughout the entire cold chain.
SeaCube describes itself as a technology thought leader in the industry and has a long-term goal of offering telemetry as a standard for leased refrigerated container units. The addition of Lynx Fleet enables a data-driven leasing model, which leverages information and analysis on equipment health to extend the life of assets and optimize their performance, representing another pioneering approach in the field.
"This is an exciting step forward for SeaCube as we move toward fulfilling our vision of telematics as a standard within our refrigerated fleet. We are confident that Lynx Fleet's offerings will help drive improvements in our operational metrics and resonate with our customers by helping them achieve optimal cooling performance and control over data-driven," said Bob Sappio, CEO of SeaCube.
"We are confident that Lynx Fleet will improve connectivity along the cold chain, increasing visibility, providing predictive analytics and driving faster, data-driven decisions," said Kartik Kumar, vice president and general manager, Global Container Refrigeration, Carrier.
The Lynx digital platform applies advanced analytics thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning and various big data technologies to connect the cold chain in the cloud, automate key processes and provide real-time visibility and information during the cargo journey.
