International. Thanks to its innovations and successful business practices, Samsung Electronics increased its value by 9% and remains for the third consecutive year in the fifth position, thus being the only Asian brand in the top 5 of the Global Brand Finance ranking in terms of brand value.
"In the midst of a year with global lockdowns, working from home becoming the new normal and an unprecedented reliance on digital communication, Samsung Electronics has ratified its position as an innovative market leader in the ranking that annually ranks the world's largest and strongest brands," the brand statement reads.
According to Brand Finance, a global valuation consulting brand, one of the ways in which the multinational demonstrated its dominance and significantly boosted its brand value during the past year was when it launched the Galaxy S20, the first 5G mobile; its third foldable device, and the development of appliances that favor the new normal thanks to its interconnectivity.
Undoubtedly, one more proof that the transformation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has been a boost for all those companies that managed (and were ready) to migrate quickly and organized to the digital field.
"At Samsung, we know that digital transformation is no longer optional. On the contrary, we recognize that it is a necessity for companies that really want to benefit. For us, being recognized in this ranking as one of the most valuable brands in the world in such a complicated year is a motivation to continue improving our product offer," says Leonardo González, Public Relations Manager of Samsung Colombia.
The ranking also demonstrates that technology, which accounts for 14% of the total value of brands in the 2021 ranking, with 47 companies and a brand value just below $1 trillion, remains the most valuable sector in the Brand Finance Global 500.
Apple (1), Amazon (2), Google (3) and Microsoft (4) round out the top 5.
