International. The compressor technology manufacturer announced the celebration of its tenth brand anniversary and completed a restructuring process that will set the course for the future. The company explained that resources, including funds for research and development, have been allocated to mobile and light commercial refrigeration applications with some niche applications in residential refrigeration.
With the year 2020 coming to an end, Secop completed a series of transformations such as the closure of domestic production in Austria, sales of the DELTA production line, the establishment of a new R&D center in Gleisdorf, Austria, and the transfer of the K Series Compressor Production Line (formerly KAPPA) to Slovakia. All actions aimed at shaping the new Secop, with a strategic plan to concentrate on its main market segments and consolidate production facilities in Slovakia and China.
Focus on mobile and light commercial refrigeration applications
Secop's business strategy was established with a clear focus on mobile and light commercial cooling applications, targeting high-quality products and creating premium customer experiences. For residential refrigeration, the company will continue to support niche applications specific to critical environmental conditions.
By moving production of the K-series compressors from Fürstenfeld, Austria to Zlaté Moravce, Secop has been able to consolidate European production at the Slovak production site, which has generated cost competitiveness and synergies for the production of commercial compressors. In addition, with the new R&D headquarters in Gleisdorf, Secop Austria has become a competence center to focus on new product development.
New products and solutions
In the stationary refrigeration segment, Secop's main markets will continue to be food retail, food services, medical and sanitary, commercial freezers or refrigerators, beverage dispensers and specialty commercial equipment. Secop has several solutions to support eco-friendly and efficient applications and will focus on the development of new products and solutions, such as for the medical segment.
In the mobile refrigeration segment, the company offers DC or battery compressors designed specifically for trucks, cars, buses and recreational vehicles. In 2021, Secop will introduce the BDnano, a new platform with 30% less weight and 30% more autonomy for performance that will take advantage of the performance of previous solutions in a more compact size.
The company also has technological solutions to support special applications, such as the medical sector and the storage and transportation of vaccines.
Sustainable solutions adapted to the client
The company's mission is committed to delivering advanced refrigeration controls and compressors, providing customers with tailor-made sustainable solutions, not only for the compressor but also for control electronics. Secop sees its future as a partner for companies looking for value-added products and innovative solutions that cover topics such as energy efficiency, respect for the environment and sustainability.
