Mexico. Chapter IIAR Mexico will hold the Certificate Course of the Academy of Natural Refrigerants (ANR): IIAR 2-2014.
The purpose of this certificate course is to provide a focus on the ANSI/IIAR 2-2014 "American National Standard for the Safe Design of Closed-Loop Ammonia Refrigeration Systems", in order to introduce students to best practices in the proper design and safe operation of industrial ammonia refrigeration systems.
Topics covered during the eight sessions include: system design requirements; engine room requirements; electrical safety; ammonia detection and alarm; ventilation; requirements for non-machinery room spaces; pipes; and overpressure protection devices.
Throughout the course curriculum, there is a focus on the connection between the design of a cooling system; appropriate inspection, testing and maintenance tasks; and management for process safety. The safety approach extends to people and properties located on or near the premises where the refrigeration systems are located.
Registrants will be able to complete the course and subsequently obtain their certificate within 12 months of the opening date, so they can manage learning at their own pace.
