Spain. The Spanish Technical Association of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (Atecyr) presented its most recent document with recommendations for action to improve ventilation in the air conditioning and sanitation systems of educational centers.
This document indicates the actions to be carried out in educational centers, in order to reduce the risk of contagion of the COVID-19 disease.
The document has been prepared by the group of experts on indoor air quality of the Technical Committee of Atecyr and is mainly aimed at primary and secondary schools, which due to their age lack in many cases mechanical ventilation.
For its preparation, the recommendations recently published by Atecyr and the latest translations of the REHVA documents related to these centers have been followed:
- Atecyr's guide to recommendations for the operation and maintenance of air conditioning and ventilation systems for buildings for non-sanitary use for the prevention of contagion by SARS CoV 2. Guide that contains 17 recommendations that the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge took as a basis for its document Recommendations for the operation and maintenance of air conditioning and ventilation systems of buildings and premises for the prevention of the spread of SARS-CoV2.
- DTIE 2.07: Air conditioning installations, SARS CoV 2 and air quality.
- Guide for schools published by REHVA.
These recommendations are addressed to the directors and those responsible for the air conditioning and sanitary facilities of the educational centers. It is a series of recommendations to address in the short term. In the long term, the general recommendation is to provide the entire educational center with a mechanical ventilation system in compliance with the requirements of the current Regulation of Thermal Installations of Buildings (RITE).
