Danfoss unveiled its new cloud platform

Danfoss nubeInternational. Danfoss introduces IoT food retail services, dubbed Alsense, powered by Microsoft Azure.

Formerly known as Danfoss Enterprise Services (DES), Alsense is optimized to provide new levels of efficiency. Food retailers can reduce their net energy consumption by up to 30% with Alsense, saving money and reducing food waste.

"We are excited to offer a modern interface and powerful cloud capabilities to our food retail services customers," said Stephane Nassau, senior vice president of global sales at Danfoss Cooling. "The additional benefits can make it much easier to track asset performance, respond to alarms and reduce energy consumption, reducing overall operating costs and extending asset life. This is an ideal cloud solution for those looking to keep day-to-day operations efficient and cost-effective."

All services are integrated into one center, offering a seamless user experience and additional functionalities. Some of these features include:

- Publicidad -

- Practical information: Instead of cluttered panels, Alsense offers relevant and easy-to-digest information. This allows customers to take corrective action more quickly, significantly reducing food and energy waste.
- Increased security and availability: Alsense allows easy expansion to different regions, with greater ease of service and a new VPN structure for greater security.
- Improved performance and stability: The new service platform in Microsoft Azure provides smoother service operation, faster reaction to alarms, fewer annoying alarms, and increased asset uptime.
- Dynamic functions roadmap: functions will be updated and introduced every two weeks. This provides customers with continuous improvements based on real-time feedback.
- Responsive portal: Whether on a mobile device, tablet or desktop computer, users will experience a responsive and fluid portal. This increases ease of use and accessibility to necessary information on a desk or on the go.

Danfoss and Microsoft announced the partnership in October 2019. The new Alsense platform is the first of many solutions that will emerge from this IoT collaboration. "With Alsense, Danfoss has demonstrated the ability to understand and address the device diversity and connectivity challenges of the food retail industry and deliver tangible benefits with an IoT platform that reduces operating costs and energy savings. This is how we empower companies to deliver sustainability through the use of technology," said Nina Lund, Head of Consumer Goods and Retail EMEA at Microsoft.
