Latin America. LG Electronics introduced a new commercial air conditioning system (CAC), equipped with an innovative air purification function. This air conditioning solution is optimized for facilities such as nurseries, schools and hospitals; where people vulnerable to dust and small particles are assisted.
The new cassette-type air conditioner is suitable for offices and retail stores where end users spend a lot of time. This air conditioning system from LG offers more options for building owners and consultants who choose from several cassette options.
The brand ensures that LG's indoor cassette-type unit, equipped with the air purification function, is the best option to consider when installing products capable of purifying air in large spaces. To implement efficient air purification technology, LG has complemented purification solutions for 1- and 4-way indoor cassette units.
LG's 4-step air purification process consists of:
- Prefilter
- Dust electrification
- Ultra-thin dust filter
- Photocatalytic deodorization filter.
With this process, ultrafine particles are removed, up to PM1.0 level. First, the multilayer structure of the prefilter removes particles, being 2.5 times more efficient than general prefilters. Then, the powder electrification process increases the electrostatic force, improving the particle collection efficiency in the filter. The next step is to remove ultrafine particles up to PM1.0 with the electric filter. Finally, the deodorization filter eliminates odor and harmful gases with high-efficiency gas adsorption technology.
The filter removes particles up to PM1.0 level with LG technology, which is guaranteed by the Korea Air Cleaning Association (KACA). The ability to reduce particles such as dust, pollen and smoke is of paramount importance; according to the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) performance metric, the standard should be 10.0 m3/min; this new LG cassette achieves a performance of 19.1 m3/min, 91% more than the standard.
Although the company added an air purification process to the cassette, it maintains its compact design because the filter frames are applied separately to the air purification filters within the product. As a result, LG's indoor unit looks thinner than its competitors.
Another notable feature of LG's new cassette is its LED lamp located inside the interior panel and a wired remote control, which allows you to manipulate the air quality in real time. Monitoring can be done at any time via the LG ThinQ mobile app.
In addition, since air purification filters are semi-permanent and one-touch, there is no need to replace them, providing convenient maintenance for building owners.
