Mexico. Engineer Elsa Yáñez, who serves as Manager for Belimo in Latin America, took office as the new president of the Mexican Association of Smart and Sustainable Building (IMEI-BOMA Mexico).
With this appointment, Elsa became the first woman to assume this position. "It is very important that as Mexicans we fight against the practices that prevent us from growing as a country. I will have three important aspects during my presidency: transparency will be very important for my board of directors, we want to work, do something meaningful, have initiative. My second axis will be inclusion, having our eyes on how by adding up we do things better. Finally, we will focus on the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development of the UN," said the new president of IMEI-BOMA Mexico.
The event was witnessed by a significant number of associates and special guests from organizations related to the smart building industry. The names of some members of the 2020-2021 board of directors were also announced, including Santiago Morett, Darío Ibargüengoitia, Roberto Sánchez, Manuel Cárdenas, Carlos Salame, Rubén Morón, among others.
For his part, the engineer Eduardo Miranda, outgoing president and next representative of the jury of the IMEI-BOMA Awards, gave a report on the activities of his management. "A basic theme of my leadership was safe and comfortable spaces, connectivity, as well as macrotrends that converge on three points: intelligence, analytics and sustainability. We addressed the issues that concern our partners. The IMEI is a niche of opportunities, a meeting place for those involved in construction and building," he said.
