United States. Due to Covid-19, ASHRAE Miami canceled the technical meeting it had scheduled for March 17 whose theme would be "Hurricane Survival Requirements".
The presentation will cover issues related to applicable building codes (history, free space, fall protection, etc.), wind analysis for rooftop mounted equipment, and understanding of product approval documents.
The presentation will be given by Lundy Clarke, who is a structural engineer and the newest of the code's senior officers.
She was a plan examiner in Miami-Dade County for 14 years. As president of the women-owned consulting firm, CRA-Clarke, Inc., she provided design and construction services to Miami International Airport, Florida City, Biscayne Nature Center, Miami Dade County Parks Department, Art in Public Places, Dade County Schools, ZooMiami and historic preservation of Vizcaya, Charles Deering Estate and Miami Senior High School.
The presentation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the 94th Aero Squadron.
