Brazil. Full Gauge Controls shares the realization of a project for the control of the facilities of a pet food manufacturing company, with which they avoid the loss of 45 tons of product thanks to remote management.
According to IBGE, there are already more than 54.2 million dogs and 23.9 million cats in residences around the country. Therefore, in the same way that it is important to think about the food placed on the table, it is also necessary to guarantee the quality of what is served for the "best friend". Special Dog, a manufacturer of dog and cat food, based in Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, interior of São Paulo, began to have the support of technology for this. In 2017, the company implemented remote management as a way to guarantee total control of its facilities.
Sitrad, a system developed by Full Gauge Controls, was chosen. As they already used the brand's controllers, it was only necessary to make some adjustments in the configuration of the equipment to obtain the use of all its functionalities. Among the greatest benefits of this technology, the refrigeration technician of the Special Dog, Thiago Bancatelli, highlights the possibility of responding with agility to any modification, thanks to the alarms sent by the software, whenever any parameter moves away from what was established. Thus, it is possible to avoid unnecessary stops on the production line or even the loss of raw material. "We once had 45 tons of product in a cold room, in which a technician made an adjustment in the temperature without placing the negative symbol, changing from -24.4°C to 25°C. Upon receiving the warnings, we had the possibility to evaluate with agility what would be the best alternative and correct the problem, avoiding damage to the stored items, "he highlights.
Initially, the company monitored only the temperature of Data Processing Centers (DPC's) and Motor Control Centers (CCM's). Subsequently, they began to use Full Gauge Controls controllers to monitor the quality of the energy supplied to the building that is powered by solar panels. "We went on to verify the levels of voltage, current, power factor and power consumed, evaluating the information by Sitrad," says Bancatelli. The manufacturer also has the support of the tool to control the data of two cold chambers for the storage of meat and products, reception chambers and antechamber, two process rooms, laboratories, control centers and meeting rooms. For this, among the models used are the MT-530E Super controller (in the CPD's, CCM's, rooms and laboratories), TC-900E Log (in the cold chambers of frozen) and MT-512E Log (in process rooms), in addition to the TCP-485 converters (in the communication of the equipment). With regard to the access and analysis of the data supplied, the company's maintenance team is responsible, through Sitrad Mobile, with the support of a technician at the base, the maintenance manager, who is attentive to the quality of the energy, of the project manager and management.
In addition to the ease of response whenever there is any modification, another positive point of the system, highlighted by the Special Dog team, is that it can be downloaded for free (in www.sitrad.com.br), there is no utilization rate and to obtain the information it is enough a device (tablet, computer or cell phone) connected to the Internet. For Bancatelli, these factors democratize the use, making technology something possible for companies of all sizes, which prioritize an integrated operation, in which the excellence of the final product is guaranteed.
