United States. Halton, a manufacturer of air handling units, announced it will open a new production unit of approximately 40,000 square feet (3,700 square meters) near its existing plant in Kentucky.
This will focus on manufacturing air handling units, air conditioning units and exhaust air pollution control systems, for the needs of commercial kitchens. This will allow the current plant, with an area of nearly 86,000 square feet (8,000 square meters), to concentrate on air distribution solutions and commercial kitchen hoods.
Expanding production to include air handling units is part of Halton's new growth strategy, which aims to increase sales of the company's total customer-facing solutions and double its market in North and South America.
The investment has a total value of approximately 8 million dollars, of which the plant's machinery represents about 4 million.
Halton has been expanding its North American operations steadily since 1997, when it opened the current plant in Scottsville. In 2018, Halton acquired LCSystems, which brought with it new know-how and technology from air handling units that will also be manufactured in the new production unit. In the future, products and solutions manufactured at the Scottsville plants in Halton will complement each other.
The new factory opened on May 16, 2019 and the facility should be operational by the end of the month.
