Colombia. Colombia's business development and foreign trade bank, Bancóldex, will finance investment projects that help mitigate the environmental impact of companies and their adaptation to counteract climate change.
This was announced by its president, Mario Suárez Melo, when announcing a new line of credit specially designed for this purpose, with terms of up to seven years and up to two years of grace period to capital.
The beneficiaries of this credit quota for $30 billion pesos (about US$9 million) are companies that wish to invest in projects for the reduction of the use of non-renewable resources, reduction or use of liquid, solid or atmospheric waste and the improvement of atmospheric quality.
The optimization of electrical or thermal energy consumption and the implementation of energy-efficient projects such as: LED lighting, high-efficiency motors, cooling, air conditioning, steam generation (boilers), are also bankable. energy measurement and control systems, optimization of combustion processes, waste heat recovery, energy cogeneration and electric vehicles.
Additionally, projects that use renewable energy sources such as biomass, solar energy, wind, among others, for the generation of electrical or thermal energy are eligible.

It is an imperative to ensure long-term business continuity and the protection of natural resources for present and future generations. This line of credit facilitates these investments with terms of up to seven years and up to two years of grace period to capital, "said Mario Suárez Melo.
