International. Bitzer introduced increased capabilities of ammonia compressor (ACP) packages that are designed to exceed the high efficiency and reliability standards of industrial refrigeration.
ACP contains compressors, motors, an oil separator and an optional oil cooling circuit, as well as an optional package of controllers and frequency inverters.
Designed with the vision of providing the lowest lifecycle cost to the customer, each ACP can comprise up to three compressors and can reach up to 3 MW (–10/35oC) of cooling capacity. ACPs come with a discharge pressure regulator as standard and a wide variety of options, including an economizer.
High efficiency in part load is guaranteed by a multi-compressor concept and intelligent control of compressor capacity. An ACP controller coupled with built-in Bitzer IQ technology ensures that the ACP runs reliably and efficiently for given operating conditions.
The parallel circuit of screw compressors increases operational reliability compared to industrial compressors in the same performance class. Both the controller and the most important sensors are designed with built-in redundancy and layers of proactive control to increase system reliability.
ACP exhibits exceptional start-up behavior due to its multi-compressor strategy. The starting current is reduced by about a third when compared to a single compressor package that provides the same cooling capacity. This results in smaller components and lower installation costs. Monitoring application limits with alarm and shutdown limits and operating parameters ensure maximum reliability. If the alarm limit is exceeded, the controller automatically takes countermeasures and informs the primary controller.
