International. ASHRAE recently launched the second edition of the Manual of Design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning for Hospitals and Clinics in Spanish, thanks to the effort of an experienced team of engineers and consultants, collaborators of ASHRAE Ecuador, who were responsible for the translation of the document.
This manual provides up-to-date information and recommendations for an in-depth design based on best practices. It presents proven, cost-effective, reliable solutions with reduced maintenance costs. The intent of this manual is to focus specifically on the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for healthcare facilities, omitting descriptions of the overall system that are readily available in other ASHRAE publications.
The idea is to introduce "what's different" about health care heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning (HVAC). Although not a consensus document, this manual is based on ANSI/ASHRAE/ASHE Standard 170-2008 "Ventilation of Health Care Facilities", which is a consensus document.
For more information, you can download a small excerpt of the manual in the ASHRAE Bookstore, by clicking on the "preview" link. In this same link it is possible to find information about the cost, the different formats offered by the manual and how to make a copy.
