United States. ASHRAE is heading to one of the world's most air-conditioned cities, Houston, for the 2018 ASHRAE Annual Conference, which will be held June 23-27.
The five-day event includes eight lecture tracks, a mini track, tours, social events and an opening message from research scientist and author, Dr. Ainissa Ramirez.
Registration is open for the conference to be held at the Hilton Americas-Houston Hotel and the George R. Brown Convention Center. Early registration ends April 30.
"The ASHRAE Annual Conference provides a forum for a meaningful exchange of knowledge and ideas among thousands of industry professionals seeking new sustainable technology solutions for the built environment," says Bharne W. Olesen, President of ASHRAE 2017-18. "This conference is an example of how ASHRAE is at the forefront of innovation in an ever-evolving industry."
This year's Technical Program features several new tracks, including one on Residential – Modern Construction in Hot and Humid Climates – a pertinent topic in the construction industry recently with the move toward net zero housing and indoor air quality.
The Technical Program will also address one of the most dynamic areas in HVAC&R through the HVAC&R Freaks Control track. Topics range from design innovations that span across the industry to the latest in building integration and observation, as well as solving the most common problems that occur in building management systems.
In addition, ASHRAE President (2018-19) Sheila J. Hayter, P.E., ASHRAE Fellow, will present the Society's theme for the coming year during the President's Luncheon on Monday, June 25.
