United States. ASHRAE Miami Chapter prepares a new meeting for March 13, where it will make a presentation called "Application considerations when using CA units in HVAC designs to eliminate potential problems".
This presentation will provide a brief overview of how variable frequency drives evolved from 1973 to 2018. The presenter will review what application considerations should be taken into account when specifying and using variable frequency drives in today's HVAC industry.
This talk will be presented by Stacy Matin, who graduated with her BSEE from the University of Cincinnati in 1973. He quickly went to work for Reliance Electric/Rockwell Automation for 28 years and primarily oversaw the South Florida area. He was first a member of the ASHRAE Gold Coast chapter in 1983. He was previously chair of the Gold Coast ASHRAE Energy Stewardship Committee in 1984 and 1985, as well as Chapter Secretary in 1985-1986. He is currently the Southeast HVAC Regional Sales Manager for Nidec (formerly Emerson) Control Techniques since 2006.
The presentation will be held at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant.
