United States. Reducing the ecological impact of the construction industry and integrated design are highlights in the technical program of the ASHRAE Winter Conference 2018.
The 2018 Winter Conference will take place January 20-24, at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. The ASHRAE co-sponsored AHR Expo will be held in conjunction with the Winter Conference, January 22-24 at McCormick Place.
"The technical program provides attendees with the information they need to reduce the ecological impact of the construction industry on the world," said Michael Collarin, President of the 2018 ASHRAE Winter Conference. "The program has seven themes in the program that focus on resources to design, build, control, commission, and operate facilities and infrastructure that need to be not only efficient, but resilient."
The technical program has more than 200 presentations by nearly 300 speakers with topics in Systems and Equipment; Fundamentals and applications; Standards, Guidelines and Codes; Earth, Wind, and Fire; Tall buildings; Modeling throughout the life cycle of the building; and heat exchange equipment. The full technical program is now available.
ASHRAE also offers two "mini-theme" programs at the AHR Expo on Monday, January 21. These sessions offer AHR Expo attendees updates on refrigerants and residential buildings. Attendance is free.
In line with ASHRAE's goal of continuing education, professional development hourly credits (PDHAs) recognized by most of the United States are offered, along with AIA LUs and LEED AP through the ASHRAE Learning Institute (ALI).
In addition, ASHRAE will offer on-site administration of the six ASHRAE certification exams on January 20 and January 24.
