International. Victaulic has launched innovative solutions for pipe system applications in mines. First of all, mechanical bonding solutions for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes. Victaulic's solutions for HDPE tubes, known as Refuse-To-Fuse, consist of mechanical couplings from 2" to 36", tools for slotting the tubes and connections manufactured from HDPE. Refuse-To-Fuse solutions offer several advantages over thermo-fused bonding.
The 795 Series Knife Valve, on the other hand, is the first valve of its kind that does not require disassembly to be maintained and is designed for fluid lines containing solids or abrasive materials, common in mining, wastewater treatment, sludge, tailings or cyclones. The new design solves a difficulty that the mining industry has long faced: the complex process of disassembling the entire valve of the pipe for maintenance, reconstruction and/or repair; which implies a great waste of time.
With the 795 Series Knife Valve, Victaulic developed an advanced technology that contains all wearable components in a single cartridge, making it possible to replace them on site, which greatly simplifies their maintenance. The design allows the valve to remain installed during maintenance periods.
Luis Henao, Victaulic Regional Manager for Central America, and the Caribbean ensures that the new line of couplings for HDPE such as the Quick Installation Style 905 couplings and the Style 908 for double groove pipe, and the new 795 Series knife valve, "It will give a lot to talk about in the coming years in the mining industry." The latter had an outstanding presentation at Expoindustrial 2017 in the city of Cali.
It is a valve designed for fluid lines containing solids or abrasive materials, common in the treatment of wastewater, sludge, mining and other industrial environments. Its main feature is to be the first of its kind that does not need to be disassembled to be maintained, all its wearable components (seat and blade) are contained in replaceable cartridge.
