Costa Rica. The IIAR Chapter (International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration) of Central America and the Caribbean will hold the XIII IIAR Seminar on Natural Refrigeration for Latin America, to be held on September 18 and 19 at the CFIA facilities, in the city of San José.
In this space, a group of specialists in design and safety in the handling of ammonia, will share experiences, knowledge and good practices, to achieve cooling systems of greater energy efficiency and safety.
The technical program includes the following topics:
• Keynote lecture on the IIAR-ANSI 2 design standard (With simultaneous translation)
• When to use CO2? (Cascade system R717 – CO2).
• How to control white rust (fouling) in evaporative condensers
• Recommendations for design and ventilation of ammonia machine rooms
•Reciprocating screw compressors (advantages and applications).
• Recirculated system with pump v.s. Gas pumping (recirculated without pump).
• Procedures for receiving and loading ammonia.
• Proper selection of valves for evaporator de-icing
• Pineapple cooling, what is the best design?
