Peru. LG Electronics held the second International Forum on HVAC Technologies and Projects, which focused on energy efficiency and sustainability. The event, held at the Swissotel facilities in San Isidro, brought together more than 250 professionals, experts from the construction, air conditioning and other industries.
It was attended by five national and foreign specialists, who spoke about the development of VRF systems projects in Peru and the world, within the framework of sustainability and efficiency. Among the speakers, engineers Daniel Lee, Engineering Manager LG South Korea, whose presentation consisted of the Simulation between VRF systems and ice water systems, and José Barsallo, Engineering Manager LG Panama who explained about the application of VRF Systems in sustainable projects were invited. Also, Francesca Mayer, CEO of Peru Green Building Council, who spoke about LEED Certifications applied to HVAC - VRF systems. There were also engineers Jesús Carrasco, technical specialist of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, reporting on the new Energy Efficiency Labeling standard, and Luis Yamada, president of ASHRAE Peru with his contribution about the Adaptation of the BREEAM standard in that country.
During the different exhibitions, the benefits of LG Multi V air conditioning equipment were presented, in which they mentioned that they have a better design since they occupy less space, allow greater energy efficiency and long-term savings due to their low maintenance cost.
Engineer Daniel Lee of LG South Korea mentioned that prices may be similar compared to chillers, but the difference is in the labor, as fewer personnel are required to install it. "It is estimated that the savings gap for companies or people who acquire them is between 40% and 60%," he said. "The MultiV system works in sections, that is, you can turn on the equipment for a certain area, which implies significant savings in electricity consumption," said the specialist.
According to Arturo Madrid Gómez, COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR of LG, the event served as an exhibition platform to show the qualities of the technology of the LG MultiV VRF System which, he said, is more efficient than the "Chiller" ice water system. He also added that LG has VRF systems made up of air and water cooled equipment, as well as equipment that uses natural gas, which means an efficient use of energy.
The meeting also discussed LEED certification, the categories it contemplates and what is the effect that the construction sector has on climate change.
