United States. Johnson Controls said it has completed construction and commissioned a new screw compressor testing laboratory worth $6.7 million at its manufacturing plant in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
At 7,000 square feet, the project is one of the largest and most sophisticated testing laboratories in the screw compressor industry.
The new laboratory is used to test large screw compressors that support cooling and gas compression applications in the oil and gas and process industries. It allows Johnson Controls to load tests and confirm the performance of its compressors so that customers can acquire the technology with confidence.
"We take our role in American manufacturing very seriously, and this lab really drives that point home," added Bill Jackson, president of Johnson Controls Global Products. "With its impressive size and capacity, we are confident that this laboratory will soon be known as the center for screw compressor technology in North America."
