Brazil. Trane announced that it ended 2016 with excellent market share, achieving its best performance compared to previous results and committed to investing in new solutions to grow further.
Luiz Moura, Trane's leader in Brazil, explains that the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) sector is one of the last sectors to feel the effects of the market slowdown and, at the same time, ends up being one of the last to recover. "When a crisis arises, there are projects underway and they inevitably need air conditioning and refrigeration systems," he said. "On the other hand, the sector also ends up being one of the last to recover when there is a market signal of improvement, since there is a period of maturation of the projects to be contracted and generate new demands for the allocation of our products," he emphasizes.
Trane believes that, despite the instability of the economy, it is necessary to invest in research to understand the evolution of the market and develop products that meet the needs of Brazilian customers. So at the end of 2016, Trane has launched two new products: a Fan Coil Titanium, which is part of the company's climate portfolio, and the TVR ™ LX, a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system.
"The air conditioner market is one of the largest in Brazil, with about 100 tons of refrigeration/year, according to ABRAVA. And we are confident that the Fan Coil Titanium is a robust product, of high durability, with air flows ranging from 1,300 to 40,000 m3 / h, "explains the executive.
"The TVR ™ LX is a very flexible product, which aims to satisfy offices, auditoriums, hotel lobbies and other environments with high temperatures or occupancy load, effectively air-conditioning these sites in order to provide thermal comfort," says Moura.
As a global company, Trane sees the market crash as just momentary. "We knew last year would be challenging. However, we have an indication of good results for the year 2017, taking into account the gradual recovery of the economy," says the leader of Trane in Brazil.
