Argentina. The Argentine Chapter of ASHRAE developed at the end of 2016 its closing activities such as the Golf Tournament, the ASHRAE Night and the Annual Congress of the Argentine Chapter (held for the first time in partnership with the Green Building Council Argentina AGBC).
The chapter was visited by the President of ASHRAE Central, Eng. Timothy Wentz, accompanied by Eng. Ross Montgomery and the Director of Region XII, Daniel Rogers.
On Wednesday, November 17 at noon, ASHRAE members, sponsors and guests began to arrive at the "El Ombú" Private Club to participate in the traditional golf tournament that precedes the ASHRAE Night and the other events organized by the Argentine Chapter. The 18-hole course and the Club facilities were the stage where the sports day and, later, the ASHRAE Night allowed to share moments of camaraderie and conversations with the President of ASHRAE Central and other international guests, who actively participated in the championship.
During this meeting it was learned that Eng. Roberto Aguiló delivered to the President of ASHRAE International, Timothy Wentz, the documents that enable the formation of a new chapter for Region XII: the Chapter of Paraguay. Although its conformation must be approved during the Winter Meeting of this month of January in Las Vegas, it is great news to know that there are more and more chapters of Latin America that make up Region XII.
Finally, on Thursday, November 17, at the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa (UADE), the Congress "Energy Efficiency and Sustainability in Construction" took place. It was the first congress organized in conjunction with the Argentina Green Building Council (AGBC). Tim Wentz endorsed a "Framework Cooperation Agreement" between the two organizations for future joint activities. As stated in Article 2 thereof, this agreement is established to develop joint and cooperative activities in the field of vocational training and training for professional practice, research, education and dissemination.
