Colombia. The fifteenth version of the ACAIRE Expo was successfully completed the previous week (from September 26 to 30) in Bogotá, within the framework of the International Fair. The event was attended by the main market players and the exhibition of renowned companies in the sector.
ACR Latin America could not miss this event that had the presence of more than 60 local and international exhibitors, who at the end of the event were very satisfied with the results obtained, the quality of the visitors and the positive reactions to the new technologies presented.
Visitors from countries such as Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Panama, the United States, Germany, among others, walked the halls of the event, which also had the realization of its main cocktail organized by the Puerto Rican company Oldach, representative for Latin America of Midea.
Soler and Palau, Daikin, Laminaire, Carrier, among other companies, also made the event a party where they offered customers and visitors some snacks and drinks.
Consulting with some industry players, they concluded that Colombia is a country of many opportunities, and although there is ample competition, there is a market for everyone. They also emphasized that in Colombia we must work even more to change the mentality of the buyer, who still has the price factor as the main reason for buying. Training continues to be another of the topics highlighted, as they assure that even the technicians show knowledge failures in some current issues that are necessary to boost the sector much more.
Data presented by the fair indicate that Latin America continues to grow positively in the air conditioning and refrigeration sector, since according to the International Monetary Fund, the growth in sales in 2015 was 3.4%, for European countries (Germany, Japan, United Kingdom) the growth was 4%.
In Colombia, according to Gabriel Gómez, president of ACAIRE, the technology used for food refrigeration is very sophisticated, similar to that used in the aviation industry, which is why Colombians entrust these imports to Europeans and Americans. "60% of the products for refrigeration in the country are assembled in Colombia, with American or European technology, a fact that generates around 15,000 jobs, which in the short term can be doubled; as long as the National Government through the Seine offers a training plan for technicians specialized in the industry," he said.
For her part, the executive director of Acaire, Claudia Sánchez, commented on the fair that "having different industrialization alternatives at the International Fair, so that both investors and exhibitors exchange experiences, knowledge and technologies, will undoubtedly generate more growth in the air and refrigeration sector."
The academic agenda was also the protagonist and had the participation of renowned speakers such as Camilo Botero, Fabio Clavijo, José Luis Correa, among others, who contributed to the knowledge.
In 2017, the 16th version of Expo ACAIRE will be held in the city of Cali, from July 26 to 28.
