United States. ET Solar, a manufacturer of advanced solar modules, announced that its alternating current (AC) modules were chosen by Energy Consultants Group (ECG) to power the largest alternating current photovoltaic module design in the United States.
The recent roof design of the grid-connected 145 kWp AC PV module is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with the ECG, as a developer and contractor.
The AC module system provides up to 25% more energy performance compared to conventional PV systems, minimizing the loss of system performance from tree shadows and other obstacles present near residential and commercial roofs. Another advantage of the AC photovoltaic system is its simplicity: the costs of designing and installing photovoltaic systems decrease by 50%.
With the superior performance of ET Solar's AC modules, the 145 kWp system reduces 65% of the energy the property needs from the grid. Reduced consumption, including an LED lighting retrofit, can increase to 85%. In addition, the project will produce approximately 181,000 kWh of green electricity per year, cancelling out the production of 3,711 tons of CO2, which is equivalent to planting 86,466 trees.
