Mexico. The National Institute of Statistics, INEGI, indicated that in Mexico copper production had a rebound in the month of April after three consecutive months of decline.
A monthly report indicated that copper production increased by 5.1% year-on-year to 41,447 tons, compared to 39,421 tons in the same month of 2015. Meanwhile, silver production showed a contraction of 2.8% in April to 383,248 kilograms, while gold production fell by 7.8% year-on-year to 8,328 kilograms.
The indicator of Mexico's metallurgical mining production, which also includes coke, sulfur, iron pellets, non-coking coal, lead, fluorite, zinc and gypsum, registered a fall of 6.2% in the fourth month of the year, according to original figures from INEGI.
