International. A surplus of 56,000 tons registered last January the refined copper throughout the international market, which compares with a deficit of 50.00 tons reported during December, said the International Group of Copper Studies (ICSG), through a statement.
According to the ICSG, in the first month of the year, the market reached a surplus of 56,000 tons compared to a surplus of 15,000 tons in the same period last year.
World production of refined copper was 2.01 million tonnes in January, while consumption was 1.95 million tonnes. Copper stocks in China posted a surplus of 68,000 tonnes in January versus a deficit of 37,000 tonnes in December.
