International. Chemours Company has announced that, together with its partner Changshu 3F Zhonghao, it has made its way into what it says is the world's first large-scale production facility for HFO-1336mzz in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China.
The site will offer increased capacity of Formacel low global warming potential (GWP) foam expansion agents, and Opteon refrigerants, and production is expected to begin in mid-2017.
Chemours Fluoroproducts President Thierry FJ Vanlancker said, "Breaking ground for our new HFO-1336mzz production facility paves the way for Chemours to add even more capability to our product offering based on industry-leading HFO technology. The changshu facility demonstrates our continued commitment to meeting our customers' needs for high-performance, environmentally friendly solutions that enable them to meet the growing demands of regulation and sustainability."
