United States. Fuji Electric announced that it has opened a new 37,000-square-foot assembly and engineering headquarters in Roanoke, Virginia, to begin the company's local production.
The announcement is the company's latest move to grow and expand its business activities in the U.S., as it will allow them to respond more quickly to local market conditions and reduce waiting time on product shipments.
The new plant expects to create about 30 new jobs ranging from skilled work to factory engineering. The company's general manager, Larry Butkovich, said the new facility will mean an increase in production.
"We intend to grow the business at Roanoke by bringing additional products and providing additional capabilities for our customers. With a larger facility, the company can now do everything at home."
Currently, there are only 25 people working at the facility, but Fuji plans to grow the team to about 60 people as the demand for products grows.
"Now we can do the design, development and production in the same building," Butkovich said.
