Germany. Following the announcement of its environmental objectives, the Volkswagen Group announced that it has selected CO2 as a future refrigerant for its air conditioning systems.
At the Geneva International Motor Show, the Volkswagen Group affirmed its goal of becoming the most environmentally sustainable car manufacturer in the world by 2018. To achieve this goal, the Group is investing more than two-thirds of its total investment capital in the development of efficient technologies as well as in environmentally sustainable production.
The Volkswagen Group has now announced its entry into CO2 technology, which will be progressively extended across its entire vehicle fleet.
In addition, according to information from the Frankfurter Rundschau, the VW Group has ordered from a Japanese manufacturer two series of co2 mobile air conditioning systems for the luxury models Audi A8 and VW Phaeton.
