Japan. The Japanese manufacturer Hitachi has recently introduced nine different models of residential air conditioners with a novel and unusual technology.
The units of the X series Clean Steel Shirokuma-kun has the technology of the company "Living Camera 3D", which is composed of three separate parts:
An "image camera" that is designed to determine the exact location of people in the room. A "thermal camera", designed to make an estimate of the person's temperature, as well as to measure the ambient temperature.
And a "thinsg camera", which is designed to calculate the floor plan, as well as the position and shape of the furniture inside the room through a near infrared LED. This allows the air conditioner to release hot air, thus eliminating blockage by furniture, in order to reach people's feet.
