International. ASHRAE announced that it is seeking feedback from the public for the proposed revision to the residential indoor air quality guidance. The ASHRAE Guide 24-2008, Ventilation and Indoor Air Quality in Low Residential Buildings, is the companion guide to the ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 62.2-2007, Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality in Low Residential Buildings.
Guide 24 provides information on how to achieve good IAQ that goes beyond the requirements contained in Standard 62.2 by presenting educational and explanatory material not included in the standard.
A revision of the guide is open for public comment until May 11, 2015. To make comments or learn more, visit www.ashrae.org/standardsactions
This is the first time since 2008 that document has been revised, according to director Paul Francisco. The revision includes a number of changes that aim to clarify the previous guidance and update the guidance for current understanding.
The guide, which was written by the committee responsible for maintaining Standard 62.2, includes information on the façade (envelope) and design systems, material selection, commissioning and installation, and operation and maintenance.
