International. Fan manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg received 11 product quality seals and won the Plus X award as "Best Product of the Year 2013" in two categories. The awards went to Ventilation System and Automotive sectors.
With the presence of 130 independent jurors, the Cpro impeller (centrifugal fan) and the ZAplus unit (axial fan - pictured) received several seals for innovation, high quality, ecology and functionality.
The design of the "Cpro" fan resembles the shape of a drop of water, works quieter and uses less energy than conventional products. The new material of the ZAmid, which has similar properties to steel, makes it possible for it to reach a rotational speed of 70 m/s for the first time. The impeller is used in high-precision air conditioning, ventilation and air extraction units, in cooling systems, air handling units and cleanroom technologies. Thanks to the material, the fan is corrosion-free, 100% recyclable and consumes 15% less power in operation than steel impellers.
The "ZAplus" is an efficient, flexible and easy-to-use fan system. The silent flight of the owl inspired Ziehl-Abegg engineers in the design of the fan blade. Improvements in efficiency and noise levels were the results. Several technical modifications and a new compact unit class brought other improvements in power consumption, flow behavior, handling and noise level. This is an axial fan in a compact unit made of high-strength composite material, in which motor and control are integrated. In this way, the system achieves an energy saving of 20%.
The award in the automotive sector concerns the "ZAwheel" electric drive wheel, which is used in urban buses.
