Argentina. Sales of air conditioning equipment increased by 2.1% throughout the South American country during the last summer season.
A total of 876,000 pieces of equipment were sold from October 2012 to the last days of February this year. The most requested were those of cold-heat. However, as reported by the newspaper of the province of Córdoba, Minuto Uno, merchants expected sales to increase this season by 10%.
Statistics indicate that November was the best month for sales, while December represented the lowest figures, with a drop of 14% compared to the same month of the previous year (2011).
Experts point out that the costly increase in labor in the manufacture of the equipment, as well as in transport and logistics were decisive in not meeting marketing expectations.
