United States. Facebook revealed that at its data center in Forest City, North Carolina, it replaced the air conditioning system with outdoor air cooling.
However, the engineers also decided to install cooling chambers, for safety. This center is located in an area of high temperature and low humidity and there, Facebook uses water vapor to cool that dry heat before it enters the data center.
Last summer there were temperatures close to 40 degrees, however, the social network reported that the air conditioning systems were never turned on.
