Mexico. According to the president of Ashrae Mexico Chapter, Sofanor Alarcón, the Mexican air conditioning industry has registered growth in recent years of around 20% and 26%.
The executive believes that events such as the increase in construction and climate change have been key to the growth in the sector. These figures stand out from the general percentages reported by Latin America, which are between 10% and 12%.
Another of the outstanding data indicates that Mexico has increased by 80% the number of households that have air conditioning service compared to 20% that was reported ten years ago. In addition, the U.S. industry is valued at about $1.2 billion a year and imports about $25 million worth of minisplits a year from China.
