Panama. The Panamanian Association of Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (Apayre) reported that it sent a complaint by formal note to the Acodeco (Authority for Consumer Protection and Defense of Competition) which indicates that some window air conditioners and minisplits sold in the country do not comply with the minimum EER of 10.0 set by the RAV.
Apayre considers that this "represents an economic loss for its buyers" and it is also considered as misleading advertising that humidifier equipment is being marketed by passing it off as air cooling equipment, since the former, due to the climatic conditions of Panama, can not achieve the comfort conditions with which they are advertised in their advertising.
The association indicated that despite the time elapsed, it continues to wait for a response from Acodeco on the matter, "which affects consumers."
