United States. Emerson Climate Technologies celebrated the production of its 100 millionth Copeland Scroll compressor for air conditioning and refrigeration applications.
The achievement coincided with the 25th anniversary of the launch of this compressor, which was introduced in 1987. The one million such system arrived in 1992. Emerson currently manufactures this product in eight facilities on three continents.
"I'm proud to have been part of the original team that brought Copeland Scroll to market, but I'm even more excited about what the future holds. Modulation technology, compressor electronics and growth in new global markets are part of where we are going with this technology," said Ed Purvis, the company's business leader.
