Panama. The company Thermaflex participated in two projects carried out in the Central American country with which it is expected to save large amounts of energy in renowned hotels managed by international hotel groups.
At the Hard Rock Hotel, which currently operates with 500 rooms, Thermaflex is participating with the supply of more than 25,000 meters of ThermaSmart thermal insulation for the prevention of energy loss and condensation in the ice water network. The company delivered the amount of 14 containers with thermal insulation for the insulation of all the pipes that make up the air conditioning system (ice water network) as well as the pump rooms and inlets of the chillers, with which it expects to save 20% of energy.
In the Westin Playa Bonita the Flexalen was implemented for the distribution of ice water and hot water, where arguments such as saving installation time, life time, maintenance free and energy saving were of great influence on the final decision.
In this project, the pre-insulated Polybutene pipe with mechanical protection (Flexalen 600) was used, which was installed underground, which allowed to provide ice water to the air conditioning system in Club House and pool restaurants. The ice water network for this hotel contains 10 kilometers of PB pipe covered with ThermaSmart insulation and almost 4 kilometers of pre-insulated pipe for the domestic hot water network.
The Westin Playa Bonita has 611 rooms and suites, six restaurants and four bars, in addition to 6,200 m2 for groups and conventions. While the Hard Rock Hotel expects to fully open in October 2012, with 1,468 rooms.
