Having built a new factory in 2006, the company will expand compressor production and open a unit of Embraco Electronic Controls (Eecon). Embraco Snowflake, Embraco's alliance with China's state-owned Snowflake, in Beijing, which will go from producing 4.4 million compressors to 6.6 million units per year. Additional production should begin between December of this year or January of 2009.
At the same time, Embraco will start manufacturing on site some technologically advanced electronic components for compressors, such as TSD starting devices and electronic controls for VCC compressors. In the coming years, the company expects to expand businesses related to advanced technology and energy efficiency, especially in commercial refrigeration applications. China, Vietnam, India, Pakistan and Thailand are markets with significant demand indices. Embraco's exports in China, to neighboring countries, reach about 15% of the total produced, and the volume could reach 25% in the coming years, according to projections.
