Costa Rica. Refriaméricas 2020 has just announced its new dates for the realization of the seventeenth edition, which will now take place on October 28 and 29.
The decision was made after extensive consultation with clients and officials of the Costa Rica Convention Center, host of the event, on the viability of the dates initially announced: July 22 and 23, amid the global pandemic.
First reported in Wuhan, China on December 31, 2019, the COVID-19 Coronavirus was declared a pandemic on March 11, 2020. The organization of Refriaméricas, aware of executive decree 42227 of the government of Costa Rica and the constant communiqués issued by the Ministry of Health of that country, decided to reschedule the event for October 28 and 29.
"While we understand that this can cause inconvenience, we consider the health and safety of our exhibitors and participants to be our greatest concern," said Max Jaramillo, show director of Refriaméricas.
