Scotch Marine Dryback boilers are available in steam or hot water versions, with a two-step design that eliminates refractory deflectors between flue gas passages.
The equipment is of robust construction and requires minimal maintenance for an extra long service life. Its efficiency allows burning oils #5 and #6 with a complete combustion with low heat release.
Among its features and design is that the smokebox is mounted at the front with a sliding battery connector, and access to the fireplace is made by a hinged rear door and davit, and by divided front doors. Also, the flame observation ports are at the front and rear.
The boiler features 2-inch high-density rock wool insulation, coated with a 22-gauge grip jacket and baked in epoxy enamel to resist chipping and discoloration. It has structural steel support legs on skids that support the boiler so that no special foundations are required.
