AP Spiralflex is the new elastomeric foam that Armacell is introducing to the market, it is 100% fiber-free and is designed especially for spiral ducts. This foam provides the thermal efficiencies and acoustic properties that mechanical engineers require. The elastomeric foam is easy to cut, also has a flexible pre-laminated support to the foam for simplified installation, maintains Indoor Air Quality in Buildings (IAQ), attenuates noise and reduces energy loss in HVAC systems. The AP Spiralflex is manufactured in Mebane, North Carolina with Microban antimicrobial technology for indoor air protection, is light and good at attenuating the background noise of air conditioners, is available in 48" wide and thickness of 1" (nominal) in roll. It follows all standards: ASHRAE 90.1-2010, ASHRAE Standard 189.1, IECC 2012, California Title 24 and meets flame and smoke rating and ASTM E 84 25/50.
